What Styler keeps

• Your account
  The email address and password you sign up with, your handle and display name, and a profile picture if you add one. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.
• Your closet
  The photographs you take of garments, and what an image model reads from each one: a name for the item, its colours, materials, patterns, the style words it fits, and a guess at the brand if a label is legible. Closet photographs are stored privately and are readable only by you, and by anyone you deliberately share a look with.
• Outfits and what you do with them
  The looks built for you and the reasons written alongside them, the collections you file them in, which outfits you mark as worn and on which day, and whether a look is private, shared with the people you follow, or public.
• A photograph of you, if you use Try it on
  One body photograph, stored privately, plus the images generated from it showing you in an outfit. This is the most sensitive thing in the app and it is optional: skip the feature and nothing of the kind is stored.
• What you send other people
  Messages, comments, likes and follows, and any photograph attached to a message.
• A photograph asked about in Second opinion
  Shared for a short window so people can vote on it, then deleted automatically. The deletion is a scheduled job rather than a promise: expired requests have their images removed and the record settled.
• Roughly where you are, if you turn on the daily outfit
  Your coordinates rounded to one decimal place, which is about 11km, alongside your time zone and whether you read temperatures in Fahrenheit or Celsius. It is deliberately too coarse to identify an address, and it exists only to look up the day’s weather. Leave the feature off and no location is stored at all.
• Diagnostics
  Errors the app runs into, and a short list of product events such as signing in, scanning an item, or building outfits. These are used to find out what is broken and what people actually use.

A photograph of someone else

The Dress beside them feature reads a photograph of another person’s outfit so it can dress you next to it. That photograph is never stored: it is not written to storage, not kept in a log, and not echoed back in the response. It is read once and dropped, because the person in it did not install this app and never agreed to anything.

Who else sees any of it

Styler is a small app built on other people’s infrastructure. Each of the services below receives only what it needs to do its job, and none of them are given your data to use for their own purposes.

• Supabase
  The database and the private storage where everything above lives, along with sign-in. Hosted in the United States (us-east-1).
• Vercel
  Runs the service the app talks to, and serves this page.
• Google and OpenAI models, through Vercel’s AI Gateway
  Receive the photograph being identified, the garment and body photographs used to render a try-on, and text describing outfits. They answer and are not given the images to train on.
• Bright Data
  Passes a garment photograph to Google Lens so Styler can find that exact item for sale. The photograph goes through their proxy rather than being published anywhere.
• Serper and DataForSEO
  Receive search text, never your photographs, and return shopping results.
• Open-Meteo
  Receives the rounded coordinates and nothing else, not your name, your account or your device, and returns the day’s forecast.
• Expo and Apple
  Deliver push notifications to your device if you turn them on.

What Styler does not do

Your data is not sold, rented, or handed to advertisers. There are no advertising identifiers, no ad networks, and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app. Nothing here follows you around other apps or websites.

Getting rid of it

You can delete your account from inside the app, under Settings. Deleting removes your account, your closet, your photographs, the outfits built from them, your messages and everything else listed above. It is immediate and it cannot be undone.

Short of that: any look can be made private again, a body photograph can be replaced or removed, the daily outfit and its location can be switched off, and notifications can be turned off, all from Settings.

Children

Styler is not intended for children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.

Changes

When the app starts holding something new, or sends something somewhere new, this page is updated to say so and the date at the top changes with it.
